On the Internet, potential guests often look in vain for specific hotels.
When names and Internet addresses of booking portals are unknown, the websites of cities/municipalities or regions are mainly visited to search for this information.
Yet, there the user mostly only finds hotel listings, which do not reflect the complete offer.
webres, in co-operation with tourism providers, cities, municipalities and regions, has been offering for more than five years special booking portals, enabling an easy search as well as a direct and particularly simple online-booking.
At the present time, webres provides more than 60 booking portals (state of 01/2006), which are linked with official city websites, such as for example Baden-Baden, Berlin, Bremen, Dresden, Essen, Hannover, Köln, Leipzig, Mönchengladbach, München, Saarbrücken, Solingen, Wuppertal and Würzburg.
Besides the simple booking of a room, it is also possible to book a package as well as to integrate a conference or incentive guide.
Close Co-operation with the Dehoga NRW
The fact that webres does not charge any commission or booking fees creates the basis for an ideal cooperation between mediators or corporate travel agencies, as those can continue to charge the service providers for agent commissions. In order to facilitate the commission calculations, webres also provides a calculation tool that hotels can use online.
Since the year 2003, in co-operation with the Dehoga NRW more than 160 hotel booking portals have been established, which additionally are linked to regional portals as well as the portal of the country Nordrhein-Westfalen. The prime objective is to achieve more direct bookings for the hotels.
In total, webres operates more than 350 own booking portals in Germany; during 2006 some more will be added abroad. All portals are linked with each other. From one portal, all other destinations can be reached as well - in the meantime more than 30 % of all bookings are made through this possibility of cross selling.
Special Portals
Besides the general hotel booking portals, webres also establishes special portals like for example for the ‘koelnmesse’ or ‘Fair-Fairs’, a co-operative project of the Messe Düsseldorf and the Dehoga NRW. For the ‘koelnmesse’ - besides providing online-booking possibilities on its website - an offer module was integrated, which enables the collaborators of the exhibition company to comfortably manage, send and process an offer online - supplied with optional data.
Another possibility is for example to set up individual on-call allocations for one or more hotels for congresses and conferences and to make them available online to the provider, which reduces administration costs considerably.
